Stingrays earn a commanding road win over Burlington

Last Saturday, 12/14 the Stingrays had their third game of the season, and they earned their second victory of the campaign as they trekked out to New Jersey to play the Burlington Thorobreds. The Stingrays won in dominating fashion 119-79.
Suffolk County had the slight edge in the opening quarter and led 26-23 at the conclusion of twelve minutes. Josh Serrano had two 3-pointers and Nick Hurowitz and Quintin Williams had one a piece in the opening frame. For Burlington Will Taylor notched two first quarter 3-pointers and Elijah Pittman had one.
In the second quarter The Thorobreds scored sixteen while the Stingrays scored 27. Josh Serrano put up sixteen second quarter points with two treys and five two-point buckets. Mike Alomonacy had a trey and a bucket. For the home team Rob Calabro, Elijah Pittman, and Jai McFadden each scored two two-point field goals. It was 53-39 Stingrays at halftime.
Post the intermission Serrano tacked on nine more points in the third quarter, Steve Augustine notched two two-point field goals and Nick Hurowitz had three buckets. John Armstead of Burlington had two two-point field goals and Ian Boyd had two as well.
Nick Hurowitz scored twice from downtown in the fourth quarter and Quintin Williams picked up another 3-point basket while John Armstead, Rob Calabro, and Jai McFadden all scored from downtown on the opposite side of the court. The Stingrays vanquished the Thorobreds by 40 points 119-79 to improve their record two 2-1 and it was the first road victory in Suffolk County Stingrays franchise history. Josh Serrano scored the most points of the game with 38.
